On East Madison Street in downtown Tipton, the Elks Lodge #1012 has been the kind of place where you walk in a stranger and leave knowing half the room. Fridays are the anchor of the week here: the kitchen fires up real food, the full bar is stocked, and the crowd that shows up ranges from lifelong members to first-timers who heard about the bourbon tasting from a friend.

That bourbon tasting, hosted by Cal, drew a great turnout and is exactly the kind of event that defines this lodge. It is not just a members-only club keeping the doors shut to the outside world. Tipton Community Theater brought dinner theater to this hall, and the Elks welcomed every ticket holder with the same warmth they show their own. The space is genuinely available to the community, and that openness has earned the lodge a 4.5-star reputation built on real nights and real people.

The atmosphere lands somewhere between a classy social club and a neighborhood bar where the service is friendly and nobody rushes you out. If you have never stepped inside, a Friday evening is the easiest entry point. Come for the food, stay for the conversation.

What We Offer

Friday Nights are the main event: the kitchen serves a rotating menu of hot food, the full bar pours everything from domestic drafts to craft spirits, and the room fills up with a mix of members and public guests. It is the most reliably good night out in Tipton.

Beyond Fridays, the lodge hosts special events that are open to the public, including bourbon tastings, live music nights, and community rentals like the dinner theater performances that have made the hall a go-to venue for Tipton-area organizations. The facility seats a real crowd and has the bar and kitchen infrastructure to back it up.

Membership in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks brings deeper access: regular programming, fraternal events, and the satisfaction of belonging to an organization that has been putting money and volunteer hours back into American communities for over 150 years. Tipton Lodge #1012 carries that tradition forward at the local level, one Friday night at a time.

"The Tipton Comunity Theater performed a dinner Theater play at the Elks Lodge in downtown Tipton. I am very impressed with the Elks opening their facility for events other than Elks events. Truly a community spirit. The building is old but kept up in immaculate fashion. Free parking everywhere and the view when you walk out is the old courthouse accross the street. Prestigious, grand and also immaculate. Oh! The play and dinner were outstanding. It all worked together for a very pleasant evening out with the family. It's illegal to take pictures of a play (copy write laws) but I wish I would have taken some of the buildings. You'll have to just go see for your selves."

"I only know of the breaded tenderloins that come but once a year. I wait 365 days for those to come back around when they have them at the annual Tipton pork festival. I am not a member but would be just because of the tenderloins and the great people that serve them every year."
